The Q Brothers’ four-member ensemble and UI Emeritus Professor of English Miriam Gilbert spoke on the University of Iowa campus Sept. 20, 2016 to deliver the first lecture in the Creative Matters series sponsored by the UI Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. Before Hamilton: The Musical, there were The Q Brothers. The Chicago-based ensemble is world renowned for rewriting Shakespeare plays into contemporary expressions including Othello: The Remix and Funk It Up About Nothin’.
